The WooCommerce ecommerce plugin.
WooCommerce
Four different layers can control your shop page, and only one of them is the Customiser. Knowing which layer owns a setting is the difference between a five-minute change and an afternoon of fighting a theme.
WooCommerce
The card in the grid is where most shopping decisions are made, and most redesigns of it add elements instead of removing them. Ragged card heights and a missing price do more damage than any amount of hover animation repairs.
WooCommerce
Brands are a separate taxonomy for a reason. Folding them into the category tree looks tidy for a week and then quietly breaks navigation, filtering and every category-based rule in the store.
WooCommerce
Product blocks are not a nicer wrapper around the old shortcodes. They query differently, render differently and extend differently, and that last difference is what catches stores out at checkout.
WooCommerce
WooCommerce already outputs a sale badge and gives you a filter to change it. Most badge plugins are a settings screen over the same two template hooks you could use directly.
WooCommerce
A row of products that scrolls sideways is a CSS problem now, not a JavaScript one. Most carousel plugins load a slider library to do something the browser already does natively.
WooCommerce
WooCommerce registers three image sizes and gives you a Customiser panel for two of them. Almost every blurry or inconsistent catalogue is a theme overriding that panel, or originals that were too small to begin with.
WooCommerce
Grids are for browsing and tables are for ordering. If your customers already know what they want and buy twenty lines at a time, the shop archive is costing you money.
WooCommerce
WooCommerce filters products natively, but only on global attributes. Most "my filters do not work" problems are custom attributes that were never taxonomies in the first place.
WooCommerce
A design canvas is the easy half. The hard half is producing a print-ready file, storing it safely and getting it to whoever prints the order.
WooCommerce
A configurator is a rule-driven option tree, not a very large variable product. The moment your options multiply rather than add, variations stop being the answer.
WooCommerce
Add-ons are cart item metadata with a price adjustment attached, not products. Once you understand that, the failures at checkout stop being mysterious and start being predictable.
