Those statements describe the historical product page. They should not be read as proof that an old package works with current WordPress, PHP, WooCommerce or booking plugins.

What matters more than the demo

A spa template can look polished and still be a poor production theme. Visitors usually arrive with one of four tasks: compare services, check prices, find the location or book an appointment. Judge a replacement against those tasks.

Your mobile service page should answer:

• What does the treatment include?
• How long does it take?
• What does it cost?
• Is there preparation or aftercare?
• Who performs it?
• How can the visitor book?

These details belong in normal WordPress content or a dedicated booking plugin—not in custom theme fields that disappear when the design changes.

Check an existing installation

If your site still runs the archived theme, create a staging copy and review it before the next WordPress or PHP upgrade:

1. Open Tools → Site Health and resolve critical warnings.
2. Enable debug logging on staging and visit every public template.
3. Submit a test booking, confirmation email and cancellation.
4. Test keyboard navigation through the menu and booking form.
5. Check service pages at 320, 375 and 768 pixel widths.
6. Confirm that business name, address, phone number and hours remain visible without JavaScript.
7. Identify shortcodes and widgets supplied by the theme itself.

Theme-owned shortcodes are a migration risk. If [spa_services] or a similar shortcode produces a core section, switching themes may leave raw shortcode text on the page.

Choosing a modern spa theme

Use this shortlist when comparing candidates:

Do not select a theme solely because its demo says “spa.” A lightweight general-purpose block theme with a well-built service pattern is often easier to maintain than a niche theme containing proprietary features.

Migration checklist

Back up the site, then catalogue service pages, staff profiles, testimonials, forms, analytics and local-business details. Install the candidate on staging and rebuild one representative service page before committing to it.

Verify that existing URLs remain unchanged. A visual redesign does not justify changing /massage/, /facials/ or other established landing pages. If a URL genuinely must move, add a direct 301 to its closest replacement rather than redirecting everything to the homepage.
